Your child may not even know when he is practicing the yoga poses. While staring at the cat, he might even perform the cat pose without himself being aware that it is a kind of yoga posture. To enjoy all the fun and frolic, yoga for children can prove to be very much beneficial in the long run. Though at times, the parents think that there is no need for the child to perform exercises as he is a small kid. But recently, medical researchers found out that the children must practice the yoga also. This helps them to grow much more strong and healthy.
If you can make your child practice the yoga for children, in that case this will help him in his physical and psychological development. Start with some easy and interesting poses like the tree pose, cat pose and also the cobra pose. Do the names sound interesting? Yes they are. They are also fun to perform. Make sure that the exercises are practiced in empty stomach. It is always better to do them early in the morning when the mind is fresh. Tell your child to take a deep breath and then perform the yoga poses. In the beginning, performing each of the postures twice is more than enough.
Now let us discuss in detail the different yoga postures. Among the various yoga for children, the most famous one is the tress pose. All he needs to do is to stand straight and take a deep breath. Fold the legs and put it against the other knee. This help in maintaining the balance of the entire body. Then he needs to join his arms and fold them properly. Practice this pose for a few minutes. Later do it with the other leg. But it has been found that the cat pose is much more popular among the children. In the cat pose, the child has to pull himself up on all the four arms and legs. Later he must take a deep breath and fold his legs in a proper manner. The child inhales and exhales continuously. He can also curve his body like the cat.
There are also some fun poses which the children can perform during their free time. Make your child do the yoga for children in a playful mood and he will really enjoy doing it. In the beginning it might be a bit difficult to practice the yoga poses, but slowly he will get a hold of it. Then he will enjoy doing it in a playful mood also. There are some poses like the butterfly pose, wheel pose and plough pose. While asking your child to perform the poses, explain to him the details of it. You can also give a name to the yoga postures. Try to give an interesting name as this will attract him more in performing the exercises quite often. Fix a time for him to perform the yoga postures. Besides the yoga, your child must have a proper diet also. This will help him in his overall growth and development during the childhood days.
